Twins to Tweens is the 8th episode of season 3 as the 49th episode overall that aired on April 24, 2004.

Synopsis[]

Fed up with having to babysit the twins, Penny wished they were older to take care of themselves. Al Roker grants her wish. However, BeBe and CeCe are much more popular than their eldest sister, prompting Penny's friends and family to leave her out in the cold.

Plot[]

For the second weekend in a row, Penny has to look after the twins while her mother, father and grandmother go out bowling. After telling her friends she will not make it to Dante's pool party, Al Roker shows up. Penny, remembering her prior experience with Roker, orders him to leave, but he coaxes her into a making a wish. She does so...accidentally by wishing that Bebe and Cece were old enough to take care of themselves. At the pool party, Penny introduces the now-aged Bebe and Cece to her friends. Enamored by their good looks, they run off to join them. Myron shows up, offering to take her to a butterfly exhibit, but she is too angry to be interested and she is even further aggravated when Dante asks for Cece's phone number. Returning home, Trudy demands to know where the twins are, not recognizing Bebe and Cece despite their heavily similar hairstyles. It isn't until Penny orders the twins to show them their birthmarks that they are finally convinced.

Trivia[]

  • Moral: Don’t try to change people for your own benefit. You may end up not liking the change.
  • BeBe and CeCe are revealed to have birthmarks on their behinds.
  • Roker may have subtly been influencing everyone to forget about Penny after BeBe and CeCe grow up.
  • Roker seems to work for a divine entity (as opposed to demonic) as he constantly looks UP in terror.
  • This is one of two episodes that can be watched on the Game Boy Advance, the other being "Tween Town".
  • Roker wiped all memory and evidence of CeCe and BeBe being grown up in the world; which means Penny's room was reverted and anything bought for the tween twins removed.

Cultural References[]

  • Penny calls BeBe and CeCe "Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm", both of whom are babies (and later adults) from the Hanna-Barbera series The Flintstones.
