Henrietta "Suga Mama" Proud is Penny, BeBe, and CeCe's grandmother, Bobby and Oscar's mother, Trudy's mother-in-law, and Spice's younger sister.
She is a hip, wrestling-loving grandmother who does Tae-Bo. She is very sassy, and always gets straight to the point when she talks. She constantly insults, discourages and beats up Oscar, but she loves him deep down. Her age is unknown, though she was born before the Korean War, as revealed in "Teacher's Pet". She often made fun of by her son. An event from twenty years ago shows her looking exactly the same as before, however, while slimming down to fit into a wedding dress her diet was so successful that she gained the slim and attractive body she had as a young woman.
Suga Mama, in general, is a very peppy grandmother who still considers herself to be in her youthful prime; she can lack self-awareness when undergoing events that show her age (falling asleep in front of the TV in loud conditions, getting exhausted after walking up a large hill, flirting with other men, etc.) But she can be a very active grandmother despite her age.
She loves her family and puts them ahead of everything else. Although she fights constantly with Oscar, she still loves him and has proven to have his best interests in mind.
Papi- Suga Mama is in love with Papi Boulevardez. On the contrary, Papi despises Suga Mama and often makes rude remarks about her in Spanish which she usually thinks are compliments.
Spice- Suga Mama's big sister Spice has telekinesis. She shows extra amounts of love for her poodle, Puff. She repeatedly shows no respect for Oscar. However, eventually, she finally gives him some respect and listens to him for once. She really does love Oscar, and their personalities really are the same, so it's a wonder why they so often clash. Suga Mama's parents favored her older sister Spice over her and she does the same thing to Oscar.
- She was voiced by former Family Matters star Jo Marie Payton.
- Her husband Percy Proud died prior to the series.
