The Proud Family Wiki

The Chang Triplets[1], Billy, Debbie, and Julie,[2][3] are triplets comprised of a brother and two sisters.

They are Asian-American straight-A students usually trying to live up to their father's expectations. They enjoy academic challenges and showing people up as they have talents in many subjects. They even study karate with their uncle.

After being absent in the first season of The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder, they reappear in the episode "Curved". Billy is seen bonding with Maya Leibowitz-Jenkins at the museum in "BeBe" and dancing with her on the Valentine's Day dance in "The End of Innocence".

Physical Appearances[]

In the original series, they looked and acted the same, with Julie and Debbie's only differences being their outfits. They looked more childish and had buckteeth.

In the revival series, they all dress and style completely differently from each other and seem to be more mature. Julie dyed her hair to further distinguish herself from Debbie, and Billy dyed part of his hair blonde and let it grow out a bit. They don't have buckteeth anymore.

Notes[]

  • In the original series, the triplets are voiced by Lydia Look[4], while Lydia only voices Julie in Louder and Prouder.
  • In an interview with Calvin Brown Jr., he refers to the Chang Triplets as being Korean, pointing to a possible change in ethnicity for Louder and Prouder.[5]
  • It is not consistent which of the girls is Debbie in the original series; in "Spelling Bee" she is the triplet in red, but in "Election" she is the one in green.
  • Their appearances in the reboot vs the original are the most different of all the characters in the series.
